..that with support from Robbie, I have found my nursing esteem back.
I was honest with Robbie of my absence in my current job, in that I was left traumatized, by impact of losing so many of patients to COVID.
I worked tirelessly and resulted in both mental and physical exhaustion.
Why??
I was chasing GP, out of hour emergency team for Anticipatory meds which my colleagues hadn’t chased, leaving residents in pain, suffering.
I couldn’t tolerate the lack luster attitude, many times I raised my concern to the manager, only to be told “” put your big girl pants on, get on with it “”, only for our supposed lead nurse not doing her job, I was picking pieces she hadn’t bothered to do, hence why it impacted upon my own well being..
However Robbie gave support, he sought other work place, and arranged my interview with Birchmere..
In my interview I was honest to them, I got offered the job on the spot..
I truly think had I not had that support from Robbie, that I would of had this courage..
I now await my start date, I am now still proud to call myself a nurse.
